Otay Lake Paddle and Birdwatching

Sponsored by the San Diego Natural History Museum

Lower Otay is the home of the U.S. Olympic Training Center for rowing sports.


The lake has 1100 acres of water and a 25-mile shoreline so there is lots of room for exploring.


In addition to the egrets, herons, and ospreys that live here, thousands of birds stop here during their winter migration.


After in introductory kayak lesson, we will explore the lake looking for birds in our quiet kayaks.

Cost is only $55 per adult museum member, $65 per adult non-member, $20 per child (6-12) paddling in double kayak with parent. Includes kayak, life vest, paddle, introductory lesson, and full-time instructor/guide. $20 discount with your own kayak.
