Families

One of the things that I most appreciate about my parents was their teaching me a love of nature and the outdoors at a young age. I have fond memories of loading up the Chevy station wagon and heading out before the sun was up on some new adventure.

Now one of my favorite activities is sharing my love of kayaking with other families. Kayaking enables people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the outdoors and view nature from a very intimate setting. We have a natural curiosity for new sights, sounds and textures. If we play outside where our curiosity is rewarded, we keep those warm experiences with us throughout our lifetimes.

We make it very easy for your family to come along on our 3-hour local tours. We provide stable tandem kayaks so the big folks can double up with the little folks. We also have comfortable life vests for all shapes and sizes as well as paddles that fit large and small hands. Our ACA certified instructors make sure that your experience is safe and comfortable and fun!!

We see more different species of birds here than on any of the other lakes. Ospreys, Peregrine Falcons, Great Blue Herons, and Night Herons, as well as a variety of Swans, Ducks and Geese all make their home here. We also see migrating birds such as White Pelicans and Canada Geese here in the winter. Bring your binoculars and see how many different species you can find.

Dog Paddle on Mission Bay

After a brief session to get the dogs comfortable in the kayaks, and a quick paddling lesson for the humans, we will launch our kayaks to explore the Bay. After about an hour we land at the Fiesta Island leash-free area for a romp and playtime. After about 30 minutes of on-land fun we paddle back to our launch site.

El Capitan Reservoir Nature Tour by Kayak

Join us for this great nature tour on one of San Diego’s largest lakes. Located in the rural hills east of Lakeside, the lake is known for its Wild Hogs that graze along the shoreline and Wild Turkeys that can be seen running through the tall grass.
